Neuburger is more than just a grape variety for us. It is home, passion, devotion, and even an obsession. We raise Neuburger because it has always been at home on the Leitha Mountains and has always been very important to our family. This probable cross between Roter Veltliner and Silvaner fell into oblivion in recent decades and is no longer widely planted in Austria. True to our family tradition, we cultivate Neuburger’s rich facets in nearly 6 vineyard hectares.
Weingut Erwin Tinhof - Wine from Leithaberg
Neuburger
Philosophy
Our aim is to create harmonious, mineral wines with elegance and structure. They are never superficial, loud or bold. Origin and character are important to us; that is what makes a wine unique. The quality for this comes exclusively from the vineyard. We achieve well-balanced fruit through organic cultivation, which provides us with an optimal foundation for our wines. Maceration of our handpicked grapes and prolonged maturation on the lees lend our wines depth and longevity.
History
Our family has been growing wine for 11 generations here in Eisenstadt on Leithaberg. This is the source of our experience and knowledge of which grape varieties grow particularly well and can produce the most authentic wines here. Neuburger, Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Blaufränkisch, and Sankt Laurent are our focus. Together with his team of idealists, Erwin Tinhof uncompromisingly pursues the clear goal of producing unadulterated wines full of character. Concentration on the essentials, continuous development and the constant exchange of ideas is what distinguishes Tinhof wines.
This is only possible together – because we are all Tinhof.
